Your guide is an artificial intelligence
The WeGuide travel companion is an artificial intelligence system. It narrates, answers your questions and adapts your route as you go. It is not a human guide.
We say so plainly, at first launch of the app and before the Escape the Crowd feature starts — including when you use it without creating an account. The guide does not conceal what it is and will tell you truthfully if you ask.
What exactly is automated
The following are produced automatically, with no human involvement:
- route selection and the order of places, based on your interests and on licensed footfall data,
- the narration about the places you pass,
- answers to your questions, spoken or typed,
- changes to the route during the trip, when conditions on the ground change.
The voice you hear is synthetic
The narration is machine-generated audio. It is not a recording of a voice actor.
In signature routes you may hear the voice of a particular creator. This is a synthetic reproduction of their voice, produced and used with their express consent. A creator may withdraw that consent — in which case the route stops being available in that voice version, and you have the rights set out in the Terms and Conditions.
The guide can be wrong
This is not a defensive formula but a real property of the technology. Automatically generated content can contain errors, out-of-date information and oversimplifications.
Always check at the source:
- opening hours and closing days,
- ticket prices, whether booking ahead is required, entry limits,
- entry rules, including dress and conduct requirements at places of worship,
- safety notices, weather warnings, closures and diversions,
- accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
You are moving through real streets and you are responsible for your own safety. A route is a suggestion, not an instruction. If a place looks unsafe, closed or off-limits, do not go in, whatever the app shows. Watch the traffic: look at the road, not at the screen.
What we are responsible for
We are liable for the operation of our service, including errors of the guide — on the terms laid down by law and in the Terms and Conditions. We do not exclude liability for personal injury, nor in any other case where the law prohibits it.
In assessing our liability, account is taken of the fact that we expressly warned you about the possibility of error and about the need to verify critical information. That does not change the fact that the service is our responsibility — we do not shift that risk onto you in full.
The guide is not selling to you
Commercial messages appear only as clearly marked interludes, separated from the narration. The guide does not urge you during the story to buy a plan or top up credits. This is a deliberate decision on our part: a tool you trust as a guide should not simultaneously be making money from you in a way you cannot recognise.
The system does not decide about your rights
The guide makes no decisions producing legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affecting you. Automation concerns the content you receive — not your entitlements, not your access to the service, not your billing.

Your data in conversation with the guide
To prepare the narration and answer your questions, the system processes your first name, interests, history of places visited, current location and the content of the conversation.
We do not use your data to train artificial intelligence models. With the providers that process data on our behalf, use of that data for training is switched off.
We keep the content of conversations for 30 days and the location trail for 90 days. Details are in the privacy policy.
The legal basis for this notice
The obligation to inform you that you are interacting with an artificial intelligence system arises from Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (the Artificial Intelligence Act), OJ L 2024/1689, 12.7.2024.
This notice forms part of the Terms and Conditions of the WeGuide AI site and application.
