INTRODUCTION
Welcome to WeGuide AI. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and otherwise process information when you use our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the “Service”). We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it.
WeGuide AI is an artificial intelligence-powered travel guide application designed to provide personalized, real-time narration and recommendations while you explore points of interest, cultural landmarks, and travel destinations. To deliver this highly personalized experience, we need to collect certain information about you, including your precise location. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.
Data Controller
Personal data collected through the Service is controlled by Filip Pradella, operating as WeGuide AI. For any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our data processing practices, you may contact us via electronic mail at desk@weguide.ai. We endeavor to respond to all privacy-related inquiries within thirty (30) days of receipt.
Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected through the WeGuide AI mobile application (“App”), our website located at weguide.ai (“Website”), and any related services, sales, marketing, or events operated by WeGuide AI. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the practices described in this Privacy Policy, you should not use the Service.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with our Service. The categories of information we collect include information you provide directly to us, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information obtained from third-party sources.
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
1.1.1 Account Registration Information
When you create an account with WeGuide AI, we collect certain personal information necessary to establish and maintain your account. This information includes your first name, which we use to personalize your experience and address you appropriately within the Service; your email address, which serves as your primary account identifier and our primary means of communicating with you; your country of residence, which helps us provide relevant content and comply with applicable legal requirements; your preferred language, which allows us to deliver content in your chosen language; and your preferred currency, which enables us to display pricing in your local currency.
If you choose to provide additional optional information, such as your age or specific interests, we collect and process that information to further personalize your experience with the Service. Providing this optional information is voluntary, but it enhances the personalization capabilities of our artificial intelligence systems.
1.1.2 Third-Party Authentication Information
You may choose to register for or log into the Service using third-party authentication services such as Google, Apple, or other social login providers that we may support from time to time. When you authenticate through a third-party service, we receive certain information from that service, typically including your name and email address as registered with that service, as well as a unique identifier that allows us to recognize you when you log in. We do not receive or store your passwords for third-party services. The information we receive from third-party authentication providers is governed by the privacy policies of those providers, and we encourage you to review those policies to understand what information is shared with us.
1.1.3 User Preferences and Interests
To provide a personalized experience, we collect information about your preferences and interests. This includes preferences you explicitly state within the Service, such as your travel style, accessibility requirements, or specific topics of interest. We also collect information about your preferences that we infer from your interactions with the Service, including the types of points of interest you visit, the duration of your visits, and the content you engage with most frequently.
1.1.4 Communications and Interactions
When you communicate with us or interact with our artificial intelligence guide, we collect the content of those communications. This includes messages you send through our in-app chat feature, conversations you have with our AI guide, support requests and correspondence you submit to us, and feedback, reviews, and ratings you provide through the Service. We retain records of these communications to provide the Service, improve our offerings, and respond to your inquiries and requests.
1.1.5 User-Generated Content
The Service may allow you to submit user-generated content, including reviews of points of interest and tour routes, ratings of your experiences, photographs you upload to share with other users, and comments and other textual content. When you submit user-generated content, we collect that content along with associated metadata, including the time and date of submission, the location from which the content was submitted, and information about the device used to create or submit the content. Photographs and other media files may contain embedded metadata, including geolocation information, timestamps, device information, and other technical data, which we process as part of the submitted content.
1.1.6 Payment Information
When you make purchases through the Service, we collect information necessary to process your transaction. However, we do not directly collect, process, or store your complete payment card details, bank account information, or other sensitive financial data. All payment processing is handled by our third-party payment processors, including providers such as Stripe, PayPal, and others we may utilize from time to time. These payment processors collect your payment information directly and process it in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable payment card industry standards. We receive from our payment processors only limited transaction information, such as confirmation that a payment was successful, the amount paid, and a transaction identifier, which we use to fulfill your orders and maintain records of your purchases.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
1.2.1 Location Data
The core functionality of WeGuide AI depends on access to your precise geographic location. Our Service is fundamentally a location-based application, and without location data, we cannot provide the real-time, context-aware guidance that constitutes the primary value of our Service.
When you use the Service with location services enabled, we collect your precise geographic coordinates as determined by your device’s Global Positioning System (GPS), cellular network, Wi-Fi positioning, or other location technologies available on your device. We collect location data continuously during active Service sessions to trigger contextual narration at appropriate moments, provide turn-by-turn navigation along tour routes, deliver relevant information about nearby points of interest, and enable our “Escape from Crowd” feature that helps you find less congested routes.
We also collect and store information about the points of interest you visit, your movement patterns and travel routes during active sessions, the duration of your visits to various locations, and historical location data to improve personalization and recommendations for future visits. This location history enables our artificial intelligence systems to learn your preferences and provide increasingly relevant and personalized guidance over time.
1.2.2 Device Information
We automatically collect certain information about the device you use to access the Service. This device information includes the type and model of your device, your device’s operating system and version number, unique device identifiers such as your device’s advertising identifier or other device-specific identifiers, the version of the WeGuide AI application installed on your device, your device’s language and regional settings, and information about your device’s hardware capabilities that may affect how the Service functions.
1.2.3 Usage Data
We collect information about how you use and interact with the Service. This usage data includes information about the features you use and how frequently you use them, the screens and pages you view within the application, the actions you take within the Service, including taps, swipes, and other interactions, the time and duration of your sessions, search queries you enter, errors and crashes that occur during your use of the Service, and performance metrics and diagnostic information.
1.2.4 Log Data and Network Information
When you access the Service, our servers automatically record certain information in server logs. This log data may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, which may be used to determine your approximate geographic location; the date and time of your requests; the pages or features of the Service you accessed; the referring URL or source that led you to the Service; and information about your internet connection, including your internet service provider and network type.
1.2.5 Analytics Data
We use analytics tools to help us understand how users interact with our Service and to improve the user experience. These analytics tools may collect information about your interactions with the Service, including session information, screen views, user flows through the application, feature engagement metrics, and aggregated usage statistics. Analytics data is typically collected in a form that does not directly identify you as an individual, though it may be linked to your account or device for purposes of improving personalization.
1.3 Information from Third-Party Sources
1.3.1 Content Partners
If you purchase tour routes or other content created by our Content Partners through the Service, we may receive information from those Content Partners about your use of their content. This information may include which routes you have accessed, your progress through purchased routes, and general usage statistics. Content Partners receive only aggregated, anonymized information about how users engage with their content and cannot identify individual users from the information we provide to them.
1.3.2 Third-Party Services
We may receive information about you from third-party services that you have connected to your WeGuide AI account or that otherwise interact with our Service. This may include information from authentication providers as described above, as well as information from other third-party services that we may integrate with in the future. When we receive information from third-party sources, we treat that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect for various purposes related to providing, maintaining, improving, and personalizing the Service, as well as for communicating with you, ensuring security, and complying with legal obligations. The specific purposes for which we use your information, and the legal bases on which we rely for such processing, are described below.
2.1 Providing and Delivering the Service
We use your information to provide you with the core functionality of the Service. This includes processing your registration and maintaining your account, providing real-time AI-generated narration and guidance based on your location and preferences, delivering personalized recommendations for points of interest based on your interests and travel history, processing your purchases and providing access to Premium features and purchased content, and enabling features such as tour routes, the marketplace, and group experiences.
Our legal basis for this processing is the performance of our contract with you, as these processing activities are necessary to provide you with the Service you have requested.
2.2 Personalization Through Artificial Intelligence
A central feature of WeGuide AI is the use of artificial intelligence to provide a highly personalized experience. Our AI systems process information about you to generate content tailored to your individual characteristics and preferences. Specifically, our AI uses your name to address you personally and create a more engaging, conversational experience; your age to adjust the complexity, tone, and content of narration to be appropriate and relevant for you; your stated interests and preferences to highlight information most relevant to you when describing points of interest; your conversation history with the AI guide to maintain context across interactions and provide coherent, continuous guidance; your history of visited locations to avoid repetitive information, suggest new places you have not yet explored, and understand your travel patterns; and your real-time location to trigger appropriate narration and provide contextually relevant information based on where you are at any given moment.
AI-generated content is created dynamically in real-time based on these inputs. We do not manually review individual conversations or AI-generated content unless required for customer support purposes, safety investigations, or legal compliance. Our legal basis for this processing is the performance of our contract with you, as personalization is a core aspect of the Service, as well as our legitimate interest in providing a high-quality, engaging user experience.
2.3 Communication
We use your information to communicate with you about the Service. This includes sending you service-related notifications, such as confirmation of purchases, information about changes to your account, and security alerts; responding to your inquiries, support requests, and feedback; providing you with information about new features, updates, and improvements to the Service; and sending you promotional communications about our products and services, subject to your consent where required by applicable law.
Our legal basis for service-related communications is the performance of our contract with you and our legitimate interest in providing effective customer support. Our legal basis for promotional communications is your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in our promotional emails or by contacting us at desk@weguide.ai.
2.4 Improvement and Development
We use information we collect to improve and develop the Service. This includes analyzing usage patterns to understand how users interact with the Service and identify areas for improvement; using aggregated and anonymized conversation data to improve the accuracy and quality of our AI systems; identifying and fixing bugs, errors, and performance issues; developing new features and functionality based on user needs and feedback; and conducting research and analysis to advance our technologies and capabilities.
Our legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in improving our Service and developing new offerings that benefit our users.
2.5 Security and Fraud Prevention
We use your information to maintain the security and integrity of the Service and to protect against fraud and abuse. This includes monitoring for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, and security threats; investigating potential violations of our Terms and Conditions; preventing fraud, spam, and other malicious or unauthorized activities; verifying user identity where necessary; and protecting the rights, property, and safety of WeGuide AI, our users, and the public.
Our legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interest in maintaining a secure and trustworthy Service, as well as compliance with legal obligations related to data security.
2.6 Legal Compliance
We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes. This includes responding to subpoenas, court orders, and other legal requests; complying with regulatory requirements and industry standards; exercising or defending legal claims; and meeting tax, accounting, and financial reporting obligations.
Our legal basis for this processing is compliance with our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in protecting our legal rights.
3. LOCATION DATA — SPECIAL PROVISIONS
Given the central importance of location data to the functioning of WeGuide AI, we believe it is important to provide additional detail about how we collect, use, and protect your location information.
3.1 Why Location Data is Essential
WeGuide AI is, at its core, a location-based service. The fundamental value proposition of the Service is the delivery of personalized, contextually relevant information at the right place and time. Without access to your precise location, we cannot provide the real-time guidance that distinguishes our Service from traditional guidebooks or static information sources.
Location data enables us to trigger audio narration automatically as you approach or enter a point of interest, ensuring that you receive relevant information exactly when it is most useful. Location data allows us to provide turn-by-turn navigation along tour routes, helping you find your way in unfamiliar environments. Location data enables the “Escape from Crowd” feature, which helps you discover less congested routes and alternatives when popular destinations are busy. And location data allows our AI to understand the context of your journey and provide information that is relevant to your immediate surroundings.
3.2 How Location Data is Collected and Processed
Location data is collected through your device’s built-in location technologies, which may include GPS, cellular network positioning, Wi-Fi positioning, and other methods available on your device. The precision of location data varies depending on the technologies available and environmental factors, but we generally collect location data with sufficient precision to identify which points of interest you are near or visiting.
Location data is processed in real-time by our systems to deliver the Service. This real-time processing enables immediate delivery of relevant content as you move through an area. In addition to real-time processing, we store certain location data to enable features such as personalization based on your visit history and aggregated analytics to improve the Service for all users.
3.3 Location Data Retention
Location data collected during active Service sessions is retained and associated with your account to enable personalization features. We retain detailed location history, including records of points of interest you have visited, for a period of two (2) years from the date of collection or until you request deletion of your location history, whichever occurs first. Location data may also be retained in anonymized or aggregated form for longer periods for analytics and service improvement purposes.
3.4 Your Control Over Location Data
You have control over the collection and use of your location data. You can disable location services for the WeGuide AI application through your device’s settings at any time. However, you should be aware that disabling location services will substantially impair or completely prevent the functioning of the Service, as location data is essential to provide our core features. We are unable to provide refunds, credits, or other compensation for periods during which you voluntarily disable location services.
You may also request deletion of your location history by contacting us at desk@weguide.ai. Upon receiving such a request, we will delete your stored location history within a reasonable period, typically within thirty (30) days, subject to any legal requirements that may require us to retain certain data.
4. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share your information only in the limited circumstances described below, and we implement appropriate safeguards to protect your privacy when sharing data with third parties.
4.1 Service Providers and Processors
We engage third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf and to assist us in providing, improving, and securing the Service. These service providers act as data processors under our instructions and are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes we specify and to implement appropriate security measures to protect your data.
The categories of service providers with whom we share data include cloud hosting and infrastructure providers who store and process data on our behalf; payment processors who handle payment transactions; analytics providers who help us understand usage patterns and improve the Service; email and communication service providers who assist with sending notifications and other communications; artificial intelligence and machine learning service providers who assist with content generation and natural language processing; and customer support tools and platforms that help us respond to user inquiries.
All service providers are bound by data processing agreements that require them to process personal data only on our documented instructions, implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures, maintain confidentiality, and assist us in responding to data subject requests.
4.2 Content Partners
If you purchase tour routes or other content created by our verified Content Partners, we share certain information with those Content Partners to enable the provision of their content and to provide them with information about how their content is being used. However, we design our data sharing with Content Partners to protect user privacy.
Content Partners receive aggregated and anonymized usage statistics about their content, including information such as the number of users who have purchased or accessed their routes, completion rates, general geographic distribution of users, and aggregated ratings and feedback. This information is provided in a form that does not identify individual users. Content Partners cannot identify you personally from the information we share with them.
Content Partners also receive information necessary for revenue sharing purposes, including transaction amounts for purchases of their content. This information is associated with transaction identifiers rather than personal user information.
4.3 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights
We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, including responding to subpoenas, court orders, and other valid legal requests from governmental authorities; enforce our Terms and Conditions and other agreements; protect the rights, property, or safety of WeGuide AI, our users, or the public; investigate potential violations of our policies or potential illegal activity; and prevent or address fraud, security, or technical issues.
Where permitted by law, we will attempt to notify you before disclosing your information in response to legal process, unless we are prohibited from doing so or we believe that notification would be futile, ineffective, or would create a risk of harm.
4.4 Business Transfers
If WeGuide AI is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your information may be transferred or disclosed as part of such transaction. In such circumstances, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy, and you will have the opportunity to opt out of any such transfer if the new entity’s planned processing of your information differs materially from that set forth in this Privacy Policy.
4.5 With Your Consent
We may share your information with third parties when you have explicitly consented to such sharing. For example, you may choose to share your location, routes, or other information with friends or family members through features we may offer. When you provide such consent, your information will be shared in accordance with your instructions and the functionality of the relevant feature.
4.6 Aggregated and Anonymized Data
We may share aggregated or anonymized information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you with third parties for various purposes, including research, analytics, and marketing. For example, we may publish statistics about aggregate user behavior, popular destinations, travel trends, or other anonymized insights derived from use of the Service.
5. DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, as described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. The specific retention periods for different categories of data are described below.
5.1 Account Data
We retain information associated with your account, including your registration information, preferences, and settings, for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your account data within thirty (30) days of your request, subject to the exceptions described below.
5.2 Purchase and Transaction Data
We retain records of your purchases and transactions for a period of seven (7) years from the date of the transaction. This retention period is necessary to comply with tax, accounting, and financial reporting obligations, as well as to maintain records for potential disputes or chargebacks.
5.3 Location History
We retain detailed location history, including records of points of interest you have visited and your movement patterns, for a period of two (2) years from the date of collection. This retention period enables personalization features that rely on your visit history while limiting the duration for which precise location data is stored.
5.4 AI Conversation Logs
We retain logs of your conversations with our AI guide for a period of one (1) year from the date of the conversation. This retention period allows us to maintain conversational context and improve our AI systems while limiting long-term storage of conversational data.
5.5 Analytics and Usage Data
We retain analytics and usage data in identifiable form for a period of twenty-six (26) months from the date of collection. After this period, analytics data may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form for longer periods.
5.6 Support Communications
We retain records of your communications with our support team for a period of three (3) years from the date of the communication. This retention period enables us to provide consistent support and to maintain records for quality assurance and dispute resolution purposes.
5.7 Data Retained After Account Deletion
Following deletion of your account, we may continue to retain certain data as required by law, such as transaction records necessary for tax and accounting purposes. We may also retain data in anonymized or aggregated form for analytics and service improvement purposes. Data retained for legal compliance purposes will be deleted when the applicable legal retention period expires. Data retained in anonymized or aggregated form does not identify you as an individual and may be retained indefinitely.
5.8 Backup Retention
Data stored in our backup systems may be retained for up to ninety (90) days following deletion from our primary systems. This backup retention is necessary to protect against accidental data loss and to enable recovery from system failures.
6. DATA SECURITY
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the personal data we collect and process against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. While no security measures can guarantee absolute security, we strive to use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data.
6.1 Technical Security Measures
Our technical security measures include encryption of data in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS) or equivalent protocols to protect data as it travels between your device and our servers; encryption at rest for sensitive data stored on our servers; secure authentication mechanisms, including support for multi-factor authentication; access controls and role-based permissions to limit access to personal data to authorized personnel who need such access to perform their job functions; regular security assessments, including vulnerability scanning and penetration testing; monitoring and logging of access to systems containing personal data; and incident detection and response capabilities to identify and respond to security threats.
6.2 Organizational Security Measures
Our organizational security measures include limiting access to personal data to employees, contractors, and service providers who need such access to perform their duties; requiring personnel with access to personal data to maintain confidentiality; providing security awareness training to personnel; implementing data handling policies and procedures; conducting due diligence on service providers and requiring them to implement appropriate security measures; and maintaining incident response plans and procedures.
6.3 Your Role in Security
You also play an important role in maintaining the security of your data. We encourage you to keep your account credentials confidential and not share them with others, use a strong and unique password for your WeGuide AI account, log out of your account when using shared or public devices, keep your device’s operating system and our application updated to the latest versions, and report any suspected unauthorized access to your account or other security concerns to us immediately at desk@weguide.ai.
6.4 Security Limitations
Despite our efforts to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your personal data. You acknowledge that you provide your personal data at your own risk.
7. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
WeGuide AI operates globally, and your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country.
7.1 Locations of Data Processing
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries where our servers are located, including data centers that may be located in various regions globally; countries where our service providers operate, including the United States, European Union member states, and other jurisdictions; and Japan, which is our primary target market.
7.2 Safeguards for International Transfers
When we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland to countries that have not been deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection, we implement appropriate safeguards to protect the transferred data. These safeguards may include Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other relevant authorities, which are contractual clauses that require recipients of personal data to protect the data in accordance with European data protection standards; adequacy decisions, where transfers are made to countries that have been determined by relevant authorities to provide adequate levels of data protection; and other appropriate safeguards as permitted under applicable law.
By using the Service, you acknowledge and consent to the transfer of your data to countries that may have different data protection laws than your country of residence, subject to the safeguards described in this Privacy Policy.
8. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data. We are committed to facilitating the exercise of these rights, subject to applicable legal limitations.
8.1 Right of Access
You have the right to request confirmation of whether we process your personal data and, if so, to request access to that data. Upon request, we will provide you with a copy of your personal data in a commonly used electronic format.

8.5 Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format and to transmit that data to another controller, where technically feasible, when processing is based on consent or contract performance and is carried out by automated means.
8.6 Right to Object
You have the right to object to processing of your personal data based on our legitimate interests. When you object, we will cease processing unless we demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing that override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. You also have the right to object to processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes at any time, without providing any justification.
8.7 Right to Withdraw Consent
Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

11. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND AUTOMATED PROCESSING
The Service relies on artificial intelligence and automated processing to provide many of its core features. This section provides additional information about how AI is used in the Service and the implications for your data.
11.1 AI Processing of Your Data
Our artificial intelligence systems process your personal data to provide the personalized experience that is central to WeGuide AI. As described in Section 2.2 of this Privacy Policy, our AI processes information including your name, age, interests, conversation history, and location data to generate personalized narration and recommendations. This processing is automated and occurs in real-time as you use the Service.
11.2 Automated Decision-Making
We use automated processing for certain purposes, including content personalization, where our AI systems automatically generate personalized narration and recommendations based on your data; fraud detection, where automated systems analyze usage patterns to identify potentially fraudulent or abusive behavior; and account security, where automated systems monitor for suspicious activity and potential security threats.
These automated processes do not make decisions that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you. The automated decisions made by our systems relate to the content and features of the Service you receive, rather than decisions affecting your legal rights or access to services.
11.3 Human Review
AI conversations and generated content are generally not reviewed by human personnel.
